Simon Young

Partner
Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey, English Barrister (non-practising), ADR Mediator and a committee member of the Law Society of Jersey.

Simon deals with commercial and corporate litigation including shareholders’ disputes; insolvency; fraud; asset tracing; contentious trust; property and construction; judicial review; IP and IT issues; non-contentious trust; probate; estate planning and employment. Simon is also a director of BoisBois' sister company, Bond Trust Limited, which provides fiduciary services.

Simon has been involved in Jersey and International Litigation since 1996, qualifying as an English Barrister in 1991 at what was then the Chambers of Michael Brent QC. Simon returned to Jersey and joined Bedell Cristin as a litigator where he became a partner in 1998. In 2003 Simon became one of the principals of Bois Bois with his brother, Daniel, and expanded the practice to cover heavyweight litigation. Whether creating precedent along the way, battling to achieve his client’s goals, or quietly negotiating a settlement, Simon's focus never waivers from trying to achieve the best possible solution.

Listed in the Legal 500 as having a ‘superb rapport with clients’, Simon is respected for his ability to persuade parties to a settlement, a skill that is extremely useful when employed in litigation.

Simon has been flying since the age of 19 and has won the Jersey Aero Club trophy for longest distance flight in a private aircraft on three occasions.
